I’m Dan Furman, and I make 100% of my living online

No joke – my entire living comes from this exact website. Yea yea yea, I also wrote two books… together, they’ve sold about 10k copies (as of Autumn 2013). At a buck each for me (yes, writing books pays that little.)

But I do know websites, and more importantly, I know about succeeding online. A few points:

  • I rank top 3 on Google for some very competitive keywords.
  • My website converts at about 15%.
  • My adwords click-through averages 5% (yes, you usually need adwords even when you rank well).
  • I always have work. Always.

The above isn’t there to impress you. It’s to (hopefully) show you that I know my stuff, and can help you. 

Ok, so how does internet consulting work?

If you are a new client, we start with a website / online assessment. This involves:

  • Me going over your site and documenting findings.
  • Looking over any other advertising / adwords you do.
  • Sending you results, and talking to you for an hour on the phone about what I found and what you should do next.

A warning – I’m picky, and I’m honest. I don’t depend on you for my health benefits, so I’ll tell you the things your employees are afraid to tell you.

The above runs $500 firm (prepaid). Typically, I spend more than 5 hours on this, and my hourly rate for clients is $175, so you’re getting me cheap. But that’s ok, because I’ll prove myself enough for you to use me again for other work. Nobody uses me just once.

Some clients hire me ongoing, bouncing all manner of ideas off me and having me help with their company’s internet strategy, writing, online branding, direction, etc. Others simply say “thanks”, implement my changes, and then come to me months later for a letter sending people to the new and improved website. I’m fine with either.

Bottom line: I’m really good, and smart businesspeople like working with me, as I’m always profitable.

    Here in 2018, every website needs to be effective on a phone browser as well as a computer monitor. This means in design, as well as content (i.e. your most important page points should be stated right away, and then expanded on.)

    This rings true even if you don't think your company is one people will browse on a phone. Because I can easily see a busy executive using airport downtime to browse potential vendors and bookmark the best ones for later reading, can't you?

    So I'll make sure your website copy reads great on a computer, but will also capture enough interest to make "the airport cut" (as I call it).
