Writing Samples

Here are some businesses and organizations I’ve written web copy for, with a small explanation for each. I’ve written copy for thousands of websites, across all industries, and I feel the following sites represent a nice cross-section of business sizes and types:

Please note – I only post web copy samples, because websites are very public. Letters / brochures / etc. are more selective in distribution, and clients may wish to keep those private. However, these sites (plus my own site here) should give you a fine idea of my writing style.

Equipment Financing by Crest Capital. Easily the best small and medium-sized business equipment financing company in existence. Over the last decade-plus, I’ve written thousands of pages for these folks, and they completely dominate their industry online. I work directly with the CEO (the smartest businessperson I know), and we have a very good relationship – he trusts my judgement and input a lot.

Section179.org – Section 179 is the tax code that lets businesses write off equipment purchases. I’ve written all the content for this site, and it ranks quite high. Go ahead – go to google and look for Section 179 info. You’ll wind up here.

New England Tree Experts – Need tree work in Shrewsbury or Worcester MA? Then these are the folks to call.

Restaurant Furniture by Soft Touch Furniture. Based in Ohio, these folks manufacture the finest restaurant furniture available. And they are awesome people as well.

I write a lot of those ads and landing pages you see advertised on Weather.com, CNN.com, etc. You know, those “secret trick to getting low car insurance” lead aggregators or online reviews of products. The trick here is conversion – you read, you click. I make these companies a lot of money.

Tanzanian Oil and Gas Services by Petrogas. Major international player in the fast growing Tanzanian energy industry. I work directly with the CEO.

Warehouse Mezzanines and Racking by Next Level. Custom fabricator of warehouse racking and mezzanines. I write web copy, landing pages, google ads, etc. Scott (the owner) is a great guy too, and really knows this industry inside-out.

Corporate Event Planning and Destination Management. by e-Ventures Unlimited. Need a sultry Hawaiian-themed corporate retreat in Michigan? In December? How about a swanky award ceremony, complete with band? Call these guys.

Nearly Natural I written thousands of product descriptions and pages of copy for this company.

Clearly Trained – Based in Kentucky, Clearly Trained is a perfect example of a small business using the internet to sell a GREAT “niche-type” product/service to the world. I love this site (oh, I also helped them come up with the name/URL.)

Multifamily Investing with a Cause Life Bridge Capital wanted to mix their multifamily investing opportunity with an adoption cause that was near and dear to them. I think we succeeded nicely.

I do lots of work for Aubuchon Hardware. These folks are a real throwback, with 100+ downtown local hardware stores and old-fashioned, helpful service, but also with a robust website and a convenient, modern shopping experience.

ConnectWise Integrations by Sierra Pacific Consulting. If you use ConnectWise, then you need to speak to Adam and the gang at Sierra Pacific to get the most out of it.

ICG Consulting – A  high level corporate consulting company (this time tech and back-end financial consulting) who didn’t want to sound like a stuffy corporation.

Strata Management Software by Power Strata. This is specific software used by specific businesses. And the website is beautiful, clear, and definitely gets to the point.

Utah Financial Advisor TrueNorth Wealth. These folks are true Fiduciaries in the world of financial advice, and excellent, professional people as well.

Awesome Life Hack Products at Weekly Penny. I handle most of the ads, headlines, and sales copy for these (I use a pseudonym here, as these products are advertised to millions, and I want people searching for “Dan Furman” to find me here.) These are also sometimes updated by other copywriters, so if you see something weird, it’s probably not me.

Remote Bookkeeping. by Top Notch Bookkeeping. Here’s an idea the internet makes possible – an awesome, effective remote bookkeeping service.

Shrewsbury Snow Plowing by New England Tree Experts. Greg, the company owner, tells me he’s converting at obscenely high levels after I rewrote this site.

Childcare in Stow, Ohio by Small Steps, Big Strides. Excellent childcare / daycare / preschool in Stow Ohio. They needed an engaging, trustworthy tone so parents would feel comfortable contacting them.

Springfield Funeral Home Quiet, reassuring website that projects competence and comfort during an obviously difficult time.

Canada Fly Fishing at Tsylos Lodge. Beautiful lodge accessible only by plane, and with no cell service – leave your phone and your cares at home, and come experience the Canadian wilderness.

New York City Homecare by Special Touch Home Care. This site has to convince someone that their loved one will be taken care of. It does the job well.

Virtual Phone Service by Hello Phoenix. Don’t let the company name fool you – these folks can get you setup with a kick-butt phone system anywhere in the USA.

Tilo Martin Painting Exceptional, high-end house painter service Southern California.

Online Backup by Safetynet – a professional online backup service for businesses.

Academic Coaching by Whitecraft Learning Solutions. This is a husband and wife team that do academic coaching from their home.

Powerboat Lessons by Yachts 4 Fun. Because who doesn’t want to skim across the water really, really fast?

Hi Dan,

Just in case you're waiting for my response on your work... Great job and I think you knocked it out of the park!

"Dan Says" #81
(collect all 100!)

There really aren't 100 of these (I don't seriously expect anyone to click through 100 pages.) But saying "collect all 13" (or however many I have) just doesn't have quite the same ring.

I am constantly adding to these, and they show randomly. I hope you are enjoying them.
