I also kept at it, and succeeded the third time (and I've been doing my own thing for more than a decade now.) So I intimately know both sides of the equation. In my travels, I have found that businesses and entrepreneurs make the same stupid mistakes over and over again. Mistakes I myself made, and mistakes you are probably making as well. They focus on things that don't matter, and ignore stuff that does. They think they need the perfect business card, they spend hours on a logo and other nonsense before they've made a dime, they ignore the realities of advertising, they needlessly write "Moby Dick"-sized business plans that won't get used, etc etc. Basically, I've figured out the reasons why 20% of businesses succeed, and 80% fail. And I'll help you stay on the good side of that ratio. Ok, here's how I can help you:I'll get you unstuck, on point, and on your way to success. I'll cut through the BS, and answer any questions you have. We can discuss starting up, what you need, what you should do, what direction you should take, etc. We can talk about your website, and work on getting it converting. I'll also help you overcome those mental roadblocks to success. We'll discuss marketing, getting customers, sales, cold calling, what's worth your time and money, and what isn't.Really, we'll talk about whatever you want. I'll also surprise you a little. I'll ask you questions that nobody else will. I'll make you think, and I'll tell you what I really think, even if I know you don't want to hear it. You need someone like that. Listen, you know you can do better, right? You just need a push. Or another set of eyes. That's me. So, why me?Because I've done it every way imaginable. I had a local advertising and direct mail business in the 90's. I ran it for two years until it finally went under (all due to my stupid mistakes.) Then I had a local computer networking repair / internet sales business - that went a little better, but I still wasn't quite there. Broke again (and back to work for "the man".)Then I got fired in 2001, and started my current company. This time, I really applied what I learned, and am proud to say, I'm a success. I know what I am doing, and I can help you. If I knew in 1992 what I knew today, my first business would have succeeded. I've written a book on starting and running a real business, and I'm one of the most respected voices out there in terms of entrepreneurial help. Yea, I can help you. But fair warningThere's no fluff with me. Nada. Zero.If you are looking for "feel-good" stuff, I'm not your guy. I'll tell it like it is, and give you my best advice, every time. That's a promise. I'm also up front and honest, and I'll expect you to be as well. I am interested in helping real entrepreneurs with real businesses. If that's you, let's talk. Here's how it works (and what it costs): We do this via e-mail. Twice a week (each). You e-mail me - ask me whatever you want. Tell me where you need help, etc. Then I reply. Then you follow up with a reply, then I reply again. Then we're done until next week. The cost is $500 a month (or 4 weeks if we start in the middle of the month), payable up front. Listen, that's not a lot of money for this (I make a lot more copywriting.) If you are not willing to spend $500 for a month of expert coaching, then I can't help you. I'm not looking for that timid person who's "afraid". There is no contract; you pay month to month. There's zero pressure from me - you use me as many months as you want to. I am not looking to lock you into anything, nor am I looking to be your crutch. Truthfully, I want to help you for a month (or maybe a few months) and then let you fly on your own. If you need to come back six months later for more help, fine, I'll be here. I hope that last part shows you how sincere I am about this - I'm not selling "memberships" or looking for long-term contracts.
